Inspiring growth for Aspire as turnover rises by 25%

Nigel BeggRapidly expanding IT firm Aspire Technology Solutions has chalked up record results for an eighth successive year, increasing sales by 25%.

The Gateshead based firm saw turnover increase from £6m to £7.5m in 2014 and is targeting similar growth for this financial year.

Established in 2006, Aspire has sites in the North East and London and last year entered The Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table, which ranks the UK’s top 100 private technology companies by looking at the fastest growing sales performances over the last three years.

The firm is a managed services company specialising in hosted services, data centre solutions, communications and traditional IT support which counts Benfield and Barbour among its clients.

The company’s workforce grew by almost a third last year in line with the new customers wins.

Commenting on the growth Managing director Nigel Begg said:

“Aspire has continued to take great strides and grow at an outstanding rate whilst delivering exceptional technical performance, support and customer service.

“I believe we have continued to be the company of choice for many leading names because we don’t simply throw technology at a problem.

“We take the time to understand the challenges faced by businesses and design and deliver bespoke solutions rather than selling off-the-shelf solutions. This approach has enabled Aspire to attract business from a wide range of prestigious organisations such as Barbour, McNicholas Construction, Benfield Motor Group and PX.

“We remain fervently focused on outstanding technical delivery, service and support as well as helping our clients to become much more efficient whilst also making significant cost savings.

“We pride ourselves on recruiting people who can think differently, approach problems with a ‘can do’ attitude, and are focused on service and delivering results. Employee numbers rose by 30% during the period and we expect technical and service recruitment to continue to increase to support planned growth in 2015.

“As well as investing in people we have continued to invest in technical performance, products, support and service and are delighted that our dedicated £1.3m data-centre is now complete. This gives us an edge on many of our competitors.

“During the period we have continued to see growing demand for a range of services including converged solutions and fully managed services and currently have over £2m of contracted work on our order books.”
