Aspire Technology Solutions is laying the foundations for significant growth by investing £1m on a stunning extension to our Grade II 18th Century Gateshead headquarters.
The development at Heworth Hall will give us capacity to employ an extra 40 staff, perfectly positioning us for projected increased business demand.
Already this year we have expanded our workforce from around 80 to over 100, with turnover up from £10.2m to £12.5m.
Work began on the two-storey glass, timber and stone extension in November, and the project, which is to the west side of the 1730-built building, is due for completion this summer.
It comes five years after we invested £1m on our move into Heworth Hall, with a £1.3m spend on a data centre in our grounds coming two years ago.
Chief Executive Nigel Begg said: “Heworth Hall is an outstanding place from which to do business and we love operating from here.
“We take great pride in being responsible for a building that has been such a significant North East landmark for so many years and one which remains so recognisable today.
“This sympathetic extension, which fits perfectly with the building’s heritage, will give us the capacity to meet our ambition of growing our business from this location for many years to come.
“Although we have a London office and clients overseas, we are very much a North East based company and we want to be in the heart of this region.
“Our business, including our workforce, has grown significantly over the past few years and this development will enable us to continue that process and meet our all-important growth targets.
“It is a significant investment but one which gives our staff the modern and inspiring environment from where to deliver their already first-class service to customers.”
Aspire bought Heworth Hall in 2010, a move that represented growth from a two-man operation into a fast-growing business with a team of 25.
We have since expanded in personnel, turnover and reputation to become one of the UK’s leading IT solutions companies, with clients also across Ireland, Continental Europe and Australia.
Our work to transform Heworth Hall, which was built for the wealthy Russell family, was recognised with awards from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors’ (RICS) North East Renaissance Awards and the Royal Town Planning Institute.
