The Customs House was having issues with its incumbent supplier who was providing a poor level of IT support and no strategic direction.
As a result, Aspire was invited to take part in a tender process conducted by The Customs House, during which we successfully beat off stiff competition to secure the contract on offer. This covered the provision of a superfast EFM (Ethernet First Mile) circuit and 24 hour IT support.
Aspire was also appointed to work with The Customs House on a consultancy basis as the organisation considers further IT enhancements moving forward.
When Aspire first met with The Customs House, they were experiencing reliability issues with their existing internet connectivity. This is turn was seriously affecting all internal systems and productivity within the organisation.
Aspire therefore replaced the unreliable ADSL line with an EFM circuit, providing significantly increased bandwidth and a guaranteed level of service.
Aspire is also contracted to provide The Customs House with a full-time IT support service covering all aspects of their infrastructure, thereby ensuring that business critical systems run without incident 24 hours a day.
This includes proactive monitoring of their servers and IT equipment which in turn enables our technicians to detect and fix faults before the customer is even aware of them.
On the back of this project, Aspire has also become involved with a local youth initiative that is run by The Customs House. The CAVE youth centre based in the Tyne Dock area has benefitted from IT equipment that has been donated and configured by Aspire.
