Aspire technicians are working with The Lakes Distillery to help produce the finest malt whisky from its picturesque Cumbria base.
Aspire is supporting The Lakes Distillery, based on the banks of Bassenthwaite Lake, to produce 150,000 bottles of spirit in its first year. The first bottles of the malt will be available from 2017, although the distillery is already producing an award winning special British Isles blended whisky, called The One, in addition the Distillery also produces its own Gin and Vodka on site, all of which are available now.
The company behind the distillery, which is open to visitors, also operates the four star Trout Hotel at Cockermouth and has its head office base in Gosforth. The distillery began production in September last year.
Aspire Account Manager, Paul Shill explained:
“It’s the first distillery we’ve worked with and we’re really enjoying working with the team in Cumbria and Gosforth to make such an exciting new product.
“The distillery on Bassenthwaite Lake wanted to be connected to its head office in Gosforth and also The Trout Hotel in Cockermouth to ensure the optimum business efficiency and service across the organisation.
“We’ve installed new IT infrastructure and hardware across the company including broadband connectivity because of its location as well as a new MITEL telephony system. The three sites are now completely integrated.”

“After a competitive tender process, Aspire was appointed to deliver its RealCARE support service, which offers desktop and server support, regular system health checks, disaster recovery, backup monitoring and network support depending on business requirements for The Lakes Distillery head office in Gosforth, The Trout Hotel and the distillery in Cumbria.
“All three sites benefit from a state-of-the-art Mitel® IP telephony platform, providing service users with cutting-edge communications and the greatest functionality available in the market. Meanwhile, a tailored lines and calls package from Aspire provides all 3 sites with low cost communications. All three sites also have state of the art Wi-Fi, installed and maintained by Aspire, for staff and guest use
“The infrastructure project was managed by Aspire, including telephony, PC’s & Server and Wi-Fi install. The Trout Hotel and head office have also both recently benefited from a Desktop PC refresh.
